*almost* 29 week specialist appointment

Well, today was our second appointment at the Prenatal Diagnostic Center. Last week we met with Dr.D (a man), but he was out this week so we met his partner, also Dr.D (but female).
The doctor that we met today is actually the doctor that Dr.G was talking to about me in the first place. I've heard mixed things about her ,so I wasn't exactly looking forward to our appointment with her. BUT... I actually liked her. Well, I'll say that I didn't dislike her. She's from somewhere north (no offense to my northern friends out there!!)... so her personality was a little different than ours, and she was very straight forward/ blunt. But all in all, we liked her.
I did feel like she was attacking me when she came into the room though - but I quickly got over it. She introduced herself as she came into the room, and then started in on me. "So, I heard that with your first pregnancy the baby died before it was born... pretty close to full term". I explained that SHE was actually PAST full term, and yes that she was still born. She asked how much Lilly weighed (she didn't ask if "the baby" was male or female, or anything personal...which was kinda cold... but I guess some people are just like that). We told her that she weighed 5lb9 1/2oz, and she asked if we had ever been told that "the baby's" birth weight was low. Well, no actually. I've talked with my doctor (Dr.G)...the one that DELIVERED Lilly, and he never really mentioned anything negative about it. I saw an RE for almost five months, the one the helped me GET PREGNANT this time... and he never mentioned it. I even met with her partner, the old man Dr.D last week....and he didn't have anything to say about it. Even the genetic counselor said that she was a "dainty" baby. But no, to answer her question... nobody has ever really addressed Lillian's birth weight with us. She said that after reviewing all the reports from my delivery that she thinks that the reason Lilly was so tiny, was because there were placental problems. I told her that I had problems with blood pressure during the last pregnancy...and that I was experiencing the same problems with this pregnancy. Difference being, I'm on medication. She was puzzled that I'm on bed rest, but still on blood pressure medication. So she will be discussing this with Dr.G.
Because of her thinking that I had placental issues with my pregnancy with Lilly... she is calling Dr.G and telling him that she wants a 24 hour urine collection done on me, to check for preeclampsia . Even though my urine has tested negative every single time. But I'm okay with that. I really don't feel that I have it, mainly because if I had it with Lilly, and that was part of my problems...she had a low birth weight. We know that. BUT, the thing is... Dr.D told us last week that "triplets shouldn't be this big at 28 weeks". And even Dr.D (the woman...this could get confusing) told us today that their growth is appropriate for a day shy of 29 weeks.
She told me that instead of every three weeks for growth scans, that she was changing that to every two weeks. So I will have an ultrasound EVERY week to check movement & fluids... and then growth every other week. Once I hit 30 weeks, I will more than likely be going to the PDC twice a week for ultrasounds, just to keep an eye on their fluids and such. Dr.D told us that most triplets are born between 30-32 weeks. She also said that I've made it to 29 weeks, that anything after that is "pretty much icing on the cake". :) That made me feel good. We are past the "scary" part. Ha! I don't know about that.... but yeah.
Basically she is saying that if they can get me to 32 weeks...GREAT. I really don't think that with my past she thinks that I will make it past 32 weeks.
Even though she is a very to the point doctor, it made me feel good that she is really looking at the whole situation. She definitely doesn't want to see anything happen to these babies...and I truly believe that she is going to do everything within her power to make sure that they get here as safetly as possible.
So, the only thing that really concerned me about our meeting with her was that she was surprised about the bp meds & bed rest. I'll be talking to Dr.G about this on Friday.
Also, I asked her about the spots on my legs and she said that it was definitely hormones. :)
As for the ultrasound, it went really good :) As always (at least up to this point). Our parents, my mom & dad and Clif's mom were able to go with us today too! So that was nice that they were able to experience that with us. Eli got a score of 8 for movement, fluids & breathing. Easton & Elliana got 6's because they were being lazy and not showing us how they breathe. We did see Easton "breathe" for a few seconds, but she said that it has to be for 30 seconds to count as a score. BUT, they normally don't look for this until 30-32 weeks. Dr.D told us that it's completely normal to not see it at this point, so that made me feel good.
Our biggest news of the day is: though she didn't do any measuring today... as far as the ultrasound tech could tell...Eli's kidney is...NORMAL! She scared us at first, asking that if when T did the ultrasound on Friday if she looked at the kidney. I was like, no... why? Has it gotten larger? She explained that from what she can tell that both of his kidneys are the same size now, that the left one had gone back to normal size. They say that it's corrected itself. I say that God corrected it. And though it was never a really "big" issue, we are still praising God for this news!!
As for positions...Eli (believe it or not) has flipped from Friday. He and Elliana were head to head at the bottom of my belly. Eli has now turned completely around, and his head is in the opposite side of my belly. And he's still a little breech baby. Easton has moved, again. His head is now under my ribs on the right side with his feet down, kicking his brother & sister in their faces. Elliana is still where T left her on Friday, head down and feet/butt up. :) Our kids are so crazy...and it never ceases to amaze me how they can move in such a tiny little space.
They told me that I should start paying attention to movement (ummm as if I haven't already!), and that if anything changes from my "normal" to call Dr.G and let him know.
Whew...that was a LOT packed into a short appointment. Our next appointment with Dr.G is Friday morning, and then we go back to the PDC next Thursday, the 7th at 1pm.
We still didn't get any pictures today...so I am asking Dr.G on Friday if it is too late to do a 4D scan. :) I'd really like to see if we can see what our little babies faces look like!
I can't believe how we can be SO in love with these three little people that live in my belly!! And they won't be living there much longer!! After talking to Dr.D today, I really believe that they will be here in 1-3 weeks. So exciting, yet VERY scary :)

28 weeks

A little late on this weeks update :) Today marks 28 weeks 3 days... getting closer to seeing my Three Little Loves' every day!
Yesterday was our doctors appointment with Dr.G - just an office visit. The morning actually started off with a bit of a scare...I had to eat breakfast quickly, because we had an early appointment. After eating, I got a painful cramp across the top of my stomach. I ignored it at first, but when it came back twice after the first time... I started to get worried. The "cramp" was lasting 20-30 seconds, and I had three episodes within 25 minutes. And then it stopped. Weird. For a minute, Clif thought that we were going to the hospital...ha! I was really thankful that we were headed out to the doctor's... because I would have been worried about it all day.
So we get to Dr.G's office, and I go to check in. The receptionist asks if I would be willing to see the nurse practitioner, T. I assumed that Dr.G must be on call, or out sick - so I agreed. Of course :) That means that even though I wasn't supposed to get an ultrasound, I was getting one!!! Yay!
I was called back to get started with my blood pressure, urine sample, and weight. My blood pressure was elevated...imagine that. If I had seen Dr.G and his nurse, they would have said that it's because I didn't get an ultrasound. :) The top number was actually 12 points lower than last week, but the bottom number was up by 2. T's nurse had me lay on my left side for literally 45 seconds, and it went down immediately. Also, my meds had barely had time to kick in - it had only been an hour since I took them. ANYWAY, they weren't super worried about it...and it's pretty normal for me. Urine came back negative for everything, thank God! That specialist, Dr.D got me all worried saying that triplets increased my risk for preeclampsia . Weight? I only gained 18 ounces in seven days. I was pretty happy with that... it puts me up to 46 pounds weight gain.
T came in, propped the table up for me...and started the ultrasound :) We were able to see our precious little ones, and learned that Little Miss Elliana has flipped since Friday. On Friday, she was head under my ribs, and breached. Yesterday, she was head down and feet up. Too funny. Eli is still in the same position, and so is Easton... believe it or not. Though, I'm not getting used to this...because it will probably be completely changed by time for our ultrasound on Tuesday afternoon.
T is pretty awesome, and always makes me feel great. When she started looking around at the babies she was going on and on about how good the fluid looks :) I couldn't help but grin...because I've been drinking anywhere from 14-16 eight ounce glasses of water every single day. She assured us that all the babies looked great. Since she has an old school machine, we had to use the doppler to pick up the heart beats...which wasn't a problem at all. She got them first off! I never get sick of hearing my babies little hearts beat away. A reassurance that every Mama should get twice a week!
I asked T about my legs, and the spots that have been there since like 14-16 weeks. I told her that the genetic counselor saw them and flipped....went and talked to the doctor, came back and told me because of my previous pregnancy/fetal demise that I should be tested for blood clotting disorders and LUPUS. T went off, saying that she appreciated what those people do... but for the most part they just freak patients out for no reason. She took a look at my legs, and said that it's definitely NOT a lupus rash... and has nothing to do with vascular. She said that it's more than likely due to skin changes in pregnancy, and weight gain. :) She was so mad that the genetic counselor had come up with Lupus. The thing is, it's not a rash... it's like circulation issues. But whatever.
We also asked about the cramps that I had experienced that morning. I told her that I really felt like they were NOT contractions, because it was only in one spot of my stomach...not all over. She said that it sounded like I ate to fast, and was probably my gallbladder giving me a fit.
:) T went on and on about how she couldn't believe that I am doing SO well at 28 weeks with triplets. AND that I should be proud, that 28 weeks was an accomplishment. *sigh* I love good doctor's appointments. And so far, since being pregnant with these three babies... there have only been two negative things during doctor's appointments.
#1 being at six weeks when Dr.S tried to get me hooked up with Dr.Christmas for fetus reduction, and then #2 at 24 weeks (?) when we were told about Eli's kidney. Other than that, we have received nothing but good news.
T says that though if the triplets were born this week, they would be in NICU for quite some time... that after looking at them, there was no doubt in her mind that they would live. She also said that it varies with each baby and mother.... that some babies might do really good at 30 weeks, and other babies still go to the NICU at 36 weeks. We are praying that our babies don't have to stay there long, but only time will tell.
One more thing, and I will be done. T asked me what I thought about the prenatal center, and I told her that I really enjoyed the ultrasound and Dr.D, but that I didn't care for the genetic counselor. I told her that we were seeing the OTHER Dr.D (the one that Dr.Garcia referred me to, to begin with) on Tuesday. All she said was, "oh". I told her that I had heard Dr.D didn't really have much of a personality, and she said that she was a good doctor, but that she really didn't care for her. Apparently, she is a doom and gloom kind of doctor...always wanting to tell you the worst case in EVERYTHING. Great...definitely NOT something that I need. :) But that's okay... I've been warned. And I don't think that we have to see the genetic counselor again this week...so that's a plus.
Well...that's my update for now... I'll try and add a picture sometime later. :)

God is good!

Today was our appointment with the specialist, at the Prenatal Diagnostic Center... and I am exhausted! Whew. We were told to get there around 12:45 to fill out paperwork, so we go there at 12:30 :) I thought it would be paperwork like I had to fill out when I went to our RE, Dr.S. So not like that at all... I had it finished within 10 minutes.
Our appointment for the ultrasound was at 1pm...we didn't get called back until 1:15ish. I really liked our ultrasound tech, but don't know her name. I thought it was strange that she didn't introduce herself. ANYWAY... I told her about my passing out issues, and she was able to leave me in a sitting position...so that was helpful :)
I have absolutely NO complaints about our ultrasound today...everything went perfectly. I did get a little hot and lightheaded at one point, BUT... after sitting up for a minute or two, we were back to scanning the babies!
Believe it or not... all three babies have turned since Friday. THREE days, and they have completely switched it up in there! Craziness. Eli & Elliana are both breached...
butt's down. :) Elliana is now head up, butt down...and feet to the side...with her face down (Friday, she was head down, feet up... and laying on her back). Eli is face UP, whereas on Friday he was face down. Easton's head (that WAS in my side) is now right under my belly button, and his feet are almost to my back. QUITE interesting... I couldn't help but laugh.
PRAISE is, Eli's kidney is still measuring 6mm...which is what it's been for the past month+. Dr.D (not the Dr.D that I thought we were going to see, we will see her next week) said that it's considered "normal" up to 5mm, but once I hit 30 weeks 7mm is considered normal...so they aren't really concerned about it. He reassured me that it's very common in little boys...saying that boys don't like to pee as much as girls do! :)
So far in this pregnancy, we have been told that fluids are "good", or "normal"... well, today...we were told that fluid levels are "great". That made my day. I asked the girl if me drinking a lot of water would effect that, and she said absolutely! I then told her that I have been drinking close to thirteen 8oz glasses of water per day. Not including milk and anything else that I might drink. Praise the Lord for GREAT fluid levels.
Baby boys are measuring a 29+weeks, due to their legs. Apparently they are going to be tall! Little Elliana is measuring 28w5d I think? It's hard to remember all the numbers, but they said that their growth (and comparison to one another) is wonderful and completely normal. Another huge relief.
Weight. Apparently Mommy isn't the only one that's been gaining a lot of weight. Eli weighs in at 2lb8oz, Easton is 2lb11oz, and Elliana is 2lb4oz (our little dainty girl!).
When meeting with Dr.D, he told us that it's a good thing... but triplet's shouldn't be this big at *not even* 28 weeks!! They totally exceeded the doctor's expectations... and they were genuinely impressed! Another HUGE praise. Chunky Monkey Easton is pushing THREE POUNDS!
OH! The ultrasound tech told us that they generally don't even observe the "practice breathing" of the babies until 30 weeks. We are not 100% sure of Easton & Elliana... but Eli is definitely practicing away :)
Dr.D said that if I make it to 34 weeks and go into labor on my own, they won't try to stop labor. If I were to go into labor before then, they more than likely would try to stop it. We also discussed the steroids before week 34...he said that if it looked like I was going to deliver early, they probably would try to give them to me.
I really liked the doctor, had a good sense of humor...and was very blunt and to the point which I liked. We talked about Eli's kidney, and he mentioned the amniocentesis  testing that they could do... but said that there is risk of preterm labor, especially with triplets. Of course, this wasn't an option anyways...so I promptly told him that I was not interested. He acted like he didn't like offering it anyway, but he said that he has to let people know their options. According to him, everything looked great when it comes to Eli, other than his little kidney. He said that in very rare cases it could mean downs syndrome. Still didn't convince us to have testing.
Appointment with Dr.D was awesome...I really enjoyed it, and left feeling great. We talked with both the ultrasound tech AND the doctor about Lilly, and things that happened. Both of them openly asked questions, which made me smile. They wanted to know what happened...was it a girl or boy, what was her name...ect ect.
NEXT was the not so fun part. Genetic counselor. :( SOOOOO was not happy about that. No one told me anything about having to meet with one. Dr.J was nice enough, but I didn't want to be there... and quite honestly, I didn't want to hear what she had to say. Mainly because of Lilly being still born. Seriously, you probably can see my eye roll from here. She asked us a million and one questions about myself and Clif, then questions about Lilly and what happened with all of that. THEN she did a "family history", starting with Clif & me...then our parents, our siblings, their children (which when I told her I had two older brothers and they each had two kids she was like, your older brother had one girl and one boy, right? Uhhh... I didn't say that... but yes, actually he does). Then she wanted to know about my parents siblings and their children. Really? She had this paper that she was drawing all kinds of lines, circles, squares, and triangles representing my family members. WEIRD. I didn't like it. Then of course, because of my last pregnancy resulting in "fetal demise" they thought it was best that I be tested for all kind of genetic things like blood clots, and LUPUS? Where did that come from. She saw my legs (that a re kind of splotchy, but I am almost positive it's my circulation because of gaining so much weight + not walking around), and made a big deal about that. Okay...well Dr.G looks at my legs and ankles every visit, and nothing has been said. I'll be asking him about that on Friday. She also told us that we might want to think about having the testing done for Eli's kindey... OH, and because Clif's dad died due to a blood clot (dislodged and went to his heart), they think that Clif needs to undergo testing to see if it's genetic. Though, I think that he should for HIS sake...but still. I just didn't like the whole experience. It's like they take your balloon and POP it. Oh well. :)
All in all, it was a great visit...and Clif and I left feeling even better than we already were. We had been so blessed throughout this pregnancy...and we continue to be blessed. :) Thanks for all the prayers going up for our little ones. They are SOOOO appreciated.
God Bless!!

About pregnancy week 27

How many weeks: 27 weeks today! <3

How am I feeling: lazy! bed rest has been a challenge... but I am willing to do whatever is best for my three Little Love's.

Doctor’s Appointment: Friday morning at 9:30 I have an ultrasound, and then appointment with Dr.F...which I'm not thrilled about. Dr.F is my least favorite doctor in this practice, but I'm excited about going to the doctor in general. Especially excited about seeing my little ones again! Also, we have an appointment with a specialist at the prenatal diagnostic center on Monday at 12:45!

Weight Gain: 39 pounds as of last Thursday :) I'm pretty happy with this... though I had hoped to gain a little more.

Maternity Clothes: HAHA!!! :) Maternity clothes are pretty much a thing of the past. I do have a few things left that still fit... but these days I am hanging out in my underwear and Clif's t-shirts. Not the prettiest site ever...BUT...it's comfortable, so yeah.

Baby Preparation: :) It's getting there. With me not being able to do anything, and there being TWO nurseries to prepare...it's been slow go. BUT my mom has been helping a TON, and I know we'll have it completed in the next few weeks. I'm not really worried about it. We have the essentials...so I'm happy.

Gender: two boys and a girl (in case you hadn't heard! haha!) Eli Zayne, Easton Layne and Elliana Rayne (we changed the spelling of the boys middle names). On separate occasions, they each have revealed their "stuff" to confirm what we found out at our 20 week appointment.

Name: Ooops :) Eli Zayne, Easton Layne & Elliana Rayne

Sleep: Good sleep comes, but mostly it goes. :) My nurse told me to take tylenol pm... but if you know me, I do NOT like the idea of taking medication while pregnant...and only take what I have to. I'm getting big...well, my belly is getting big. And I'm getting uncomfortable. Mostly uncomfortable because of my back, and I am experiencing "restless legs". SO that means a lot of tossing and turning during the night, which wakes me up...wakes the babies up...and wakes Clif up. I guess maybe it's God's way of preparing us for the NO sleep that we are going to experience.

Best moment this week: Feeling them all three move at the same time inside my tummy... and having my hubby there with me to feel them from the outside. LOVE my babies. :) And CANNOT wait for them to get here!!

Movement: For the most part, they move all the time. They have their resting moments. BUT for the majority of the time they are going CRAZY in there. LOVE it.

Food cravings: chocolate and soda!!! I know, that's horrible :) For most of my pregnancy I have craved "healthy" stuff. Recently I've been trying to eat a lot of carbs to pack on some last minute weight, hopefully meaning that my little babies will pack on weight of their own. But these last few days...all I have wanted to eat is CHOCOLATE and drink ICE COLD soda. :) I don't even drink soda anymore, which is the funny part. Even before I became pregnant... I didn't drink much soda. Mostly water, and tea..decaf. Two years ago, on new years eve I decided to stop drinking caffeine, and soda. I did really well for like three or four months, and then I started adding in some sprite and such. Before that I was completely addicted to Diet Cherry Pepsi :) Which is what is currently in my fridge! BUT...let me say that it's been in there for two weeks (it's a two liter), and I still have a fifth of it left. I only drink a TINY bit, sometimes not even every night. Seriously, maybe two ounces. But it's SOOOO good :)

What I miss: being able to reach the bottom of my feet in the shower. :) It's quite a sight...me trying to shower. Let's just say that I get the job done, it just takes a while. AND I miss being able to snuggle with my hubby in bed. First, I can't really get that close anymore because of my belly...and then, I am SO hot natured now... I pretty much can't stand for anything to touch me.

What I am looking forward to: My doctor's appointments and my little bundle's finally getting here! Only a few more weeks!!!

Milestones: We made it past 25 weeks, what they consider "viable"!!! :) It's such a relief knowing that if I were to go into labor early (which we are praying praying praying that I don't) our babies would more than likely survive :)

Prayer Request: Please pray for us as we go to our specialist appointment next Monday. It's a two hour ultrasound...and we are praying that Dr.D measurements will match those of Miss V. Also, please continue to pray that Eli's kidney will not get any larger, and that eventually correct itself. And last but not least, please pray that my body does what it needs to...that babies continue to grow and be healthy, and they stay in Mommy's tummy for as long as possible.

LIGHTS! (Day 2)

Well...no blueberry waffles for me this morning. :( I am currently eating a PB&J sandwich with nacho cheese doritos. HA! Lovely combination for a lovely breakfast.
I woke up at 6:30am to some AWFUL noises coming from inside our closet (where the hot water heater is). I'm not going to lie...it sounded like a rat, and I was freaking out. :) Clif wasn't home from work yet...and I am terrified of anything that resembles a mouse...let alone something even bigger!!!
Needless to say, after a few minutes...it stopped. And when I opened my eyes, I realized...hey, why is the ceiling fan slowing down? Oh...and the other fan is completely off.
YUP...our electricity went out this morning. Big bummer. I need a shower... clothes need to be ironed for church, and I can't even dry my hair (IF there was enough water left in the tank to take a shower). *sigh* Gotta love it.
I guess that maybe this is God's way of preparing me for the years of no sleep ahead? Or...at least, a year. I'm pretty sure that I will be sleep deprived for at LEAST that long when the babies get here!
Apparently, AEP has some substation problems that have effected 23,000 people in our area. LOVE it. :) It just so happened that my laptop battery had a little power left - so I thought that I would hop on here and complain for a minute or two :)
Day two of bed rest, and it has proven to be an eventful day already... OH, and did I mention that my parents don't have power either? Which means...our church doesn't have power either. :) Candlelight service it is!
Below are some 24 week belly shots, and a few of the triplets bathroom & play room (that's a work in progress)...enjoy, and happy Sunday!!

Their "play room"...under construction :) My dad & Clif are going to lay the floor on Tuesday evening... and then we can get started moving in their furniture!! FINALLY... I will have a little space to do some things!!!

I bought this shower curtain yesterday, and LOVE it! :) I figure that frogs would be appropriate, since there are boys AND a girl. Too cute...

24 week appointment & a prayer request for Eli :)

Well...I passed my glucose test. WOO HOO! Actually, it's cracking me up because as I type this post - I have a strawberry twizzler hanging out of my mouth. :)
I've deprived myself (and the babies) of candy, ice cream, bread & potatoes for the last week in hopes that I wouldn't have to go back for the dreaded three hour test. Bleh! They say that they make you come back for the 3 hour test if you sugar is above 145. Mine was 134, which they were very satisfied with. My iron is a little low (normal is 12, I am at 11.4)... but they said that it's normal at this place in pregnancy, with one! :) So, no iron supplement for me, unless I start to be really tired/fatigued. Yay!!
Oh, and let me go ahead and mention this...my blood pressure? 130/78...my nurse all but did backflips. :) I was SOOOO happy. It's the lowest it's been at the doctor's office so far. Which is funny, because at home it's normally 110-120s/170s.
We had our ultrasound, and even though our growth scan wasn't supposed  to be until 26 weeks... it was done today. Don't really know why... but whatever. We were definitely NOT complaining about getting to see our babies for 30+ minutes!! Eli & Elliana are head down, and Elliana & Easton are butt first in my ribs. Too funny. For the last few days, I will get this hard knot at the top of my belly. I thought it was a foot or something, NOPE, it's their butt's. :)
Everyone measured right on schedule...Eli & Easton are both weighing in at 1lb8oz, and little Elliana is 1lb7oz...just one little ounce behind her brothers. :) I am 24w1d today, the boys measured in at 24w3d and Elliana at 24w1d. We couldn't be more pleased!!
We do have a small prayer request for our wild child, Eli. Miss V was measuring organs & such today for the growth scan, and one of Eli's kidneys is measuring slightly bigger than the norm. She said that they normally measure no more than 6, and his is between a 5 & 6. She kept telling me not to go home and worry about it, that it's extremely common in little boys. She also said that it almost always corrects itself in time. If it were to get where they would be concerned about it (between 8-12) they would send us to a specialist, and the little guy might have to have a procedure done when he is born. BUT, she said that as of now... it's still withing normal limits, it's just prominent. So they want to keep an eye on it.
I'm not really worried about it...especially since she said that it's common. She said that she's seen kidneys measure 12-14 and correct themselves. So we are trusting and waiting. :)
Heart rates were wonderful, and we got to hear them twice! Ha! We heard them during the ultrasound... Eli @ 143bpm, Easton @ 153bpm, and Elliana @ 151bpm.
I saw a new doctor today, Dr M (that delivered my best friend's baby last Friday). MUCH older than I had thought - but all in all, I liked him, He's a very "matter of fact" doctor... but sometimes, that's a good thing. :) He asked what kind of work that I did... and I told him that I am a teller manager until tomorrow. That Dr G had already written a note for my HR department, and that he is taking me out as of tomorrow. He was very pleased with that. He also warned me that he is an avid Wal*Mart & Lowes shopper, and that since I am being taken out of work - it does not mean that I can run around doing a million things. He says it defeats the purpose :) I promised him that I will be as much of a couch potato as possible.
I'm measuring at 37 weeks for a singleton...at 24 weeks with three!! :) He seemed to think that was pretty humorous. OH and when he first came in and introduced himself to us, he made a joke about meeting "a man like Clif". Apparently, Clif knows how to get it done. HA! I told him that we get an ultrasound every time to check fluid levels and heart rates - but he wanted to listen to the heart beats anyways! And he got them on the first try! :) So we got to hear our little ones TWICE today.
All in all, it was a GREAT afternoon!! After we got out of the doctor's office (two hours later...Dr M was on call, and apparently got backed up with his appointments this afternoon), Clif treated me to dinner at Red Robin. YUM! I will say that I ate like a pig... but I couldn't help it. I started off with a side of clam strips, which I have been craving for WEEKS...and then had a burger & fries. Followed by... a "Rookie Magic" milkshake. SOOOOO good. And I'm still full!! :) Babies didn't know what to do since I haven't been eating a lot of carbs the last few days.
Well...that's all for now...just wanted to update you all. If you think of it, please say a quick prayer for our little Eli. Again...not really worried, but still will be in the back of our mind. :) Thanks in advance!!!!

the 23rd week

Yesterday marked twenty three weeks pregnant… and we couldn’t be happier (and excited)! Clif and I both feel SO blessed that we have made it this far with this pregnancy.

I think that the whole “three babies” is starting to set in more and more each and every day. Not that it hadn’t before… but it’s just becoming very…real. At least for me. I can’t believe that they are going to be here in just a few short weeks.

We are praying (and praying some more) that we are able to make it to August 3rd…which would be exactly 34 weeks. But I am realizing that it might be a long stretch. And then again…maybe not. I’ve seen a lot of women with triplets on tv, and they are going 33-36 weeks. Whew! I even met a lady a few months ago that delivered her triplets at 36 weeks, and they went home with her just four days after delivery! Amazing. Then I have come into contact with someone that had her triplets at 30 weeks. So it’s pretty much up to my body, and the three E’s.

I don’t have too many updates, as life has been pretty uneventful these days (thanking God for that)! Babies seem to be doing well, and from what they can tell everything looks a-ok with all three. Praise the Lord!

As of my last appointment, I am up to a thirty three pound weight gain. Which… as much as I’m NOT happy about all this weight gain (and the fear of it being difficult coming off), I know that it’s a good thing…for the babies at least!!

I’m still fairly mobile, but am becoming very tired. This week especially, it has been a CHORE to even get out of bed in the morning. I feel as if I’m back to my first trimester, wanting to sleep for twelve hours straight.

My appetite has slowed down a little… which is good. There for a while, I could eat a meal… and still be hungry. Which, can be pretty embarrassing. Ha! Oh well, after all… I AM eating for FOUR people.

Eli,Easton & Elliana are becoming more and more active by the day. I try not to be too paranoid about feeling them move – just because if I’m moving, they tend to be still. AND, I’m sure that the inside of my tummy is becoming a pretty cramped place these days. When we went to the doctor on the 11th, Miss V, the ultrasound tech said that the babies should be right at a pound. The way that I’m growing…and the way that I’m feeling them bounce around in there… I’m thinking that they have been growing this last week.

Speaking of active babies… these last few days, it’s like they have been sucking straight caffeine out of their placentas (which I know isn’t entirely true, because I MIGHT drink 3 ounces of caffeine a day. MAYBE). Last night during church, I thought that I was going to pee my pants. They all three were flopping around inside of me. It is an amazing feeling… but slightly uncomfortable (and unnerving) at the same time. This morning… they woke me up at 6:00am, and I didn’t think that I was going to be able to go BACK to sleep. It felt like my belly was going to sprout legs and walk off of the bed. It wasn’t the cute little pokes and prods that normally warm my heart, it was full body flopping action…that mixed with the heartburn that I seem to have 24/7 – I thought I might toss my cookies.

As I sit here an type Eli and Elliana are kicking around (I fear they may be enemies…ha!)… and Easton must be worn out from his last dance session, that ended about ten minutes ago.

Next Friday, the 27th will be my last day of work. And though I am VERY much looking forward to being able to rest… I’m a little uneasy about not working. Or earning a pay check. I’ve got about 6 weeks paid leave, and then we aren’t really sure what will happen. Which…is a little scary, but we know Who is in control.

There are a few things that I am looking forward to these next few days and weeks….

***Tomorrow morning at 10am, my best friend A, will be headed into the operating room to deliver her son, “Prince Charming”, via c-section. Please pray with us as this is taking place. Where a c-section tends to be a pretty routine surgery, A, her husband J, and their precious little one (baby #2) need our prayers. Please pray that God will guide the doctor’s hands, and that everything with the little guy will be a-ok.

***Saturday afternoon, my friend R, is having her baby shower at our church! I’m pretty excited about it. :) I love baby showers…and it’s a lot more enjoyable when you’re expecting yourself!! R is pregnant with two little baby girls, due to arrive sometime in July. Please pray for R as she carries these little girls for the remaining weeks, and that everything would go smoothly with their delivery. SO excited for our little ones to have so many friends their own age to play with as they grow up!!

***In just a few weeks, on June 4th is my baby shower…which I am SUPER excited about. Baby Shower’s for ONE baby is a blast, and I know that carrying three little bundles will make it all the more special. I have a wonderful church family that will be throwing the shower for me – and a slew of church members, friends, co workers and family members that were invited. Seriously…we sent out a few invitations shy of 120. Craziness.

Well…will update again soon! I’m sure you’ll be seeing my 23 week pictures out here soon! Thank you for your continued prayers for Clif, me and our three little E’s.

OH...PS, we received a letter in the mail from Aflac yesterday. Hopefully we will know something in two weeks :) Keep those prayers a coming!

thankful for 22 weeks...

Twenty two weeks today :) Again…so thankful that we have made it this far with our little Skittle’s. Can’t believe it!! Things are starting to REALLY sink in. I’m going to have THREE babies in just a few months. But even though I get nervous thinking about everything… I couldn’t possibly be more excited!!

Today we had our 22 week appointment with Dr G, but before that… an ultrasound! We lucked out – only because we have a stubborn son that didn’t want to roll on his back so that we could see the front of his heart. Sheesh…what am I in for?

Once again…Eli was stretched out across the bottom of my belly, laying on HIS belly. Stubborn kid. After a LOT of convincing (and several kicks to my bladder and other parts) Miss V FINALLY got him to roll enough to get the shots that she needed. Praise the Lord! She said that as far as she can tell, everything looks great with all three babies. We were able to see each of them, and their little hearts pumping away. I love ultrasounds… they never cease to amaze me. Oh, did I mention that Easton has wedged himself up under my ribs, with his head towards the middle of my belly? And Elliana is standing with her head under my ribs on the other side. It was actually pretty funny watching them today. I have been telling Clif that Elliana and Easton play together – but I don’t think that he believed me. However, today, he witnessed it for himself. It was so cool watching them poke at each other – even from their separate sacks!! And little Miss Elliana was kicking her brother, Eli, in the head the whole time. Too funny. They are definitely getting big and running out of room… because they are right on top of one another. I love it.

As far as the actual ultrasound goes…everything went well. V says that all the babies look great (from what she can tell), Eli’s heart looks normal, and fluid levels are right on track! We are SO very thankful for such a great report.

After the ultrasound we waited for B to come and take my vitals :) She finally called me to check my weight and my blood pressure. Blood pressure was great… once again, I think it’s much better after my mind is put at ease… knowing that my babies are a-ok. Weight…was good for the babies, but not so good for Mommy’s self-esteem. I gained SEVEN pounds in two weeks. The thing is… I haven’t really been eating “bad”. I just eat often. Like…yesterday, I had a chicken salad for lunch (followed by some peanut m&m’s…but still!). I really try to watch my sodium, and I’ve been drinking a TON of water. So I don’t feel too bad about it. Dr G didn’t have anything “negative” to say about it…however when he pulled up my chart he was like, “hmmm…up a little this week, huh?” Well Doc, I’m carrying THREE babies in there. And to be completely honest… they stay pretty hungry. It’s pretty sad, and slightly embarrassing when you finish a normal sized meal that should fill the average person (and is generally more than I would eat when I’m not pregnant…) and you are STILL hungry. This happens more than just occasionally. Oh, and I drink a lot of milk :)

The book that I read a while back said that I should gain 35 pounds by 25 weeks. Or something like that. So if that’s the case… I’m right on track. I just want to do what’s best for optimal birth weight. Which the doctor in this book swears by carbs carbs carbs (the good kind). So we will see. V said that the babies should be right at a pound now.

The visit with Dr G went just as good. I am measuring at 33 ½ - almost 34 weeks, and still no swelling! :) He told me today…”well, you’re measuring more like an 8 ½ month pregnant lady!” Too funny. He is THRILLED with how well that I’m getting along. He keeps asking if I am miserable, if I’m having contractions, or if I am having severe back pain. No, no…and I have backpain sometimes… but nothing that me & a Tylenol can’t handle.

Dr G says if I continue to do as well as I am now, that I may be able to make it past 34 weeks. He also confirmed that we will be having an ultrasound every appointment from here on out to check fluids & heart beats. YAY! I was very excited. So far, everything looks great… but he will be keeping an eye on everything. He says that if for some reasons complication occur, that there is a shot that he can begin giving me to help develop the babies lungs. He also said that the NICU at the hospital where I plan to deliver is just as good as any in the country. They are completely up to date with all the new technology. Which, I’ve heard all that from other people… but hearing it from my own doctor made me feel really good.

We also learned (because my lovely husband HAD to ask) that there will be anywhere from 25-30 people in the operating room with me when I deliver. Isn’t that just fun to think about. When he started naming off all the doctors and nurses that each of us would need, I was amazed. I knew it was going to be a lot, but geez!!

So we go back in two weeks for an ultrasound, my glucose test (mmmm glucola) and an office visit with Dr M, because Dr G is on vacation. This will be on the 26th, and the next day will be my last day as a working woman for a while.

Whew. Thanks so much for all the prayer and support! We really appreciate it.

Also…please be praying for our friends daughter, M. She was taken to the hospital yesterday for breathing issues – and since then they have been told that she has pneumonia in both lungs. She is a little over one year old.

Thanks!

Tomorrow morning we are headed to the doctor's office for our 22 week appointment! We have an ultrasound scheduled for 10:30 with Miss V, to check out Eli's little heart. 21 weeks... and sick

Today marks twenty one week’s pregnant J Once again (like every week), I can’t believe that we have made it this far!! OVER half way for a “normal” pregnancy…and only thirteen weeks away from delivery (hopefully). It’s so hard to believe that time is going by so quickly…and that everything seems to be going smoothly. Praise the Lord!

At 21 weeks, I’ve gained right at thirty pounds…give or take a pound or two. Babies are VERY active most days. Eli being the most active (I think because he is so low in my tummy)…we feel like he is going to be our wild child. Easton is our tap/break dancer, depending on his mood… and Elliana is the calm child (for now). I’m still fairly mobile. Was up and down pretty much all day Saturday, and Sunday I just took it easy. I even took a two hour nap!! Blood pressure has been great for the most part, and slightly elevated every great once in a while.

*shrug* I had to go to the doctor today, but not Dr.G. I actually had to make an appointment with my family doctor, Dr.W. For the last several weeks I have been struggling with allergies (at least, that’s what I chalked it up to be). The last two days have been horrible. The night before last I might have slept with a fan blowing directly in my face (not the smartest thing that I could have done…) because I was SO hot. I woke up yesterday morning feeling kind of froggy, but nothing huge. However, THIS morning…not so great.

I felt slightly stupid for going to the doctor because of allergies, BUT I wanted to make sure that’s all it was. Sure enough, after checking my eyes, ears, throat & lungs… Dr.W informed me that it was in fact, allergies. But at least I know for sure that it’s allergies, and won’t be adding that to my list of pregnancy worries.

Let’s just say that the last two nights combined, I have only slept for about 8-10 hours. Which is not good for this pregnant lady. I like to get at least 8 hours EACH night. Needless to say, I’m running on empty.

Last night was the worst. I was burning up, but couldn’t have the fan blowing on me because I’m so congested, and my throat is already sore. This morning at like 6am, I woke up coughing…and (I know this is gross) something came up. You’d never seen a fat pregnant chick move so quick… I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom for fear that I was about to throw up all over myself (and Clif). When I went to the bathroom sink… it was blood. Gross! It’s from where I can’t breathe through my nose, so I’m sleeping with my mouth open…and then everything is getting dried out… it was just ick! I did manage to go back to sleep for about an hour though.

When the last call alarm went off, I knew that I had to get up and get ready for work. I went to say something to Clif and had practically NO voice at all. Greaaaat. I knew it’d be a fun day trying to answer phones at work. Which it did prove to be.

I slept pretty good from about 10-12, then I had to pee. How lovely. THEN I come back to bed, and I can’t find a comfortable position. And THEN when I’ve almost drifted off to sleep…someone would start tap dancing on my rib cage. I love the feeling… but I am telling you, this no sleep thing has GOT to stop. It’s killing me.

On top of the no sleep, because of my allergies… I have a KILLER headache, pretty much all day long. Which on a non pregnant day, it wouldn’t be bad. I’d pop a few Excedrin migraine and be fine. NOPE. J Tylenol it is. And unfortunately Tylenol doesn’t do jack for me.

On the bright side of things (sorry for all the complaining)…I added up my FMLA leave, and the LOA that I will be allowed to take… and it doesn’t look like it will be too bad after all. I am praying that I will somehow be able to get an extension on my LOA – that way I won’t have to go through the hiring process again. But we will see, and He will provide.

Another thing on the upside… sometime last year, Clif enrolled us both in AFLAC insurance. It will also cover any children we have in the future, until they are eighteen years old. Apparently, some people slacked off on paperwork, and the insurance didn’t go through (or something to that effect). Well, when we found out that I am expecting TRIPLETS, Clif called our AFLAC rep and told him the news. He informed Clif that the paperwork had not been turned in until X amount of days/months after we filled it out. The insurance has to be in effect for ten months before the babies are born. So we just assumed that the babies would not be covered under AFLAC. Well… Clif got a call from our AFLAC rep yesterday – and they are TRYING to get us covered!!! It’s not a for sure thing yet – but it would be AMAZING if it happened, and SUCH an answer to prayer.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with AFLAC insurance – the plan that we purchased will pay $720 per day (per child) that the babies are in NICU, This money doesn’t go to the hospital, OR the insurance company… it comes to me & Clif.

So anyways…we are PRAYING PRAYING PRAYING (!!!) that the Lord allows this insurance to be underwritten (or whatever needs to be done) so that the three little E’s are covered. It would be SUCH a blessing, especially with me being out of work for so long. But we will see…

Our next appointment is on Wednesday (a week from today) on the 11th. SO looking forward to this appointment because we get ANOTHER ultrasound. J We are pretty excited to see our Little Love’s again. Though – really, the only reason that we get to see them is because wild child, Eli didn’t want to get off of his belly long enough for us to get a front view of his heart. BUT I am okay with that because now we get to see all three of them, and hear their little beating hearts. SO looking forward to it.

Will update more when there is more to update on!!

Elliana?

Eli Zane Smith

Easton Lane Smith

Elliana Rayne Smith

God has answered my {our} prayers.

Yes...babies in general (well, actually A baby) was our prayer. And we got our prayers answered times three. BUT there is something about that little girl. No, not a replacement of Lilly... but because of Lilly, little girls will always hold a special place in my heart. My girls. Oh my gosh... my girls. :) I am mommy to two beautiful baby girls... not to mention two precious little BOYS! Ah! We are SOOOO very blessed... I can't even begin to tell you!!

Yesterday's ultrasound went WONDERFULLY. :) First of all...fluids are PERFECT, which of course has been my main concern since day 1. Babies are very active and very healthy, as far as we can tell. Everyone's heart's,kidney's,stomachs,brains...ect ect look good...and they are measuring right on track! Eli was being a little bit of a stubborn brat... laying on his tummy and refusing to move (until we left the office, of course!!)... so we couldn't get all of the pictures of the heart that we needed. :) Which means that I get to see my Little Love's in two weeks!! How exciting! We were able to SEE his heart, the four chambers AND hear his heart beat (which all looked and sounded normal)... but apparently they have to have a front view too.

It's weird having Eli down so LOW in my tummy...almost like he is head banging on my pelvis! V said that it's completely normal with triplets though - because they run out of room to move!! Which...thinking about it, makes sense. :)

At my last appointment I was told that Baby A & C were boys... and this appointment I was told that Baby C is actually Baby B, and that Baby C is the one that was Baby No Name all along (now isn't that confusing!!).

SO... Baby A (Eli) showed his stuff to us first thing yesterday morning. In fact, it's the first thing that he showed us!! Apparently he is rather proud, and might even be braggin to his brother a little. :) Easton wasn't much more modest that Eli...flaunting his stuff for Miss V. I really felt all along that I was having two boys and a girl, but everyone kept telling me that we are having three boys. I mean, even up to the day... people were telling me it was cute how I thought there was a girl in there, but they were sure that there were three boys. Geez people, never go against a mother's gut feeling!!! As soon as V put the wand on Baby C (Elliana), we knew. There was no denying the butt in our face sporting three lines :) All I could do was laugh (and cry) and tell Clif, "I TOLD you it was a GIRL!" Needless to say, we were both VERY happy and poor Clif was a little shocked, I think.

However... he is happy that our little Elliana is going to have two protective brothers to watch out for her. Clif says that she will never get a date with Eli & Easton near by.

My blood pressure was better than it's been...well, since I've been pregnant. Well... not really better than it's been since I've been pregnant, but better than it has at any other doctor's appointment that I've had thus far. I think it's because it wasn't the first thing that we did! We went with V for our ultrasound (which, I've very impressed... she said it would take at least an hour & a half... it took right at an hour!), and after that was finished we waited like 15 minutes and Miss B came to weigh me (let's add four more pounds to total 26 pounds so far!) and take my blood pressure. I was all smiles (of course, and very relieved because I had just seen my babies in action). I was talking to B as she took my blood pressure, and when I asked how it was.... 130/80. Which is still higher than usual (at home & work anyway)... but everyone was VERY excited about it. Dr G told me that my new blood pressure medicine was to get an "quick scan" every appointment from here on out. I think that he was half kidding at first, but later told me that he would like (if possible) to get me scheduled for a quick ultrasound at every appointment to check heart rates and fluids. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE my doctor?

Dr G started measuring for the first time yesterday. :) I was 20w1d, measuring in at 33 weeks. HA! He says that is right on track for triplets. Woo hoo. They were very impressed with my blood pressure, my size, weight gain...and how well I am getting around in general.

He asked me the dreaded question though... "when do you plan to stop working". Well doc... whenever you tell me to. He told me that he wants me to quit in four weeks. AH! Twenty four weeks and on bed rest. Fun stuff. :) Though - in the end, it's all going to be SO worth it. Paid time off will run out 6 1/2 weeks after I go out on leave, and then FMLA will be used up in 11. After that, I can apply for leave of absence which I think I can drag out for 40 days. *sigh* So after all is said and done... I might have to re apply for my job...if it's still there for the taking. But I'm trying to stay positive and not think about those things too much!

So it is looking like that the last full week of May (hopefully that Friday) will be my last day of work for a while. :( But ya know what - whatever is safe for my babies! I know that the Lord is going to provide what we need. Not WANT, but need. :) We will be okay!

A little information on the personal side (maybe TMI?)... I think that I have decided to go on birth control after the babies are born. I haven't decided 100%... but I think it's probably going to be for the best. I talked to my nurse, J, yesterday and she said that there is ONE type of birth control that I can take that is safe during breast feeding. :) I don't remember what it's called but it starts with an "M" (I think). More than likely, I won't have a cycle while breastfeeding anyway... but just in case. And though it doesn't happen TOO often, there is a possibility that I could ovulate before I actually have a period. SCARY! :) Clif is scared that we will have three four months olds and then find out we are pregnant with two more, naturally! haha. And too... with the PCOS that I have, I think that being on something will help me take weight off - because tho induced by medicine, my body will be doing what it needs to do. Once I stop breast feeding, all I have to do is call my doctor - and they will call in regular pills. Which, I have heard there are a few out there that actually HELP with the symptoms of PCOS. :) BUT...we will see. I know that God will not give us more children than we can handle! AND if He wants me to be pregnant with twins after the triplets are born... then birth control isn't going to stop Him!

More updates later. :) Off to an evening of resting at home alone, on the couch...with movies! :) Headed to my bestest friends baby shower tomorrow...can't wait! Oh...AND I am finally going to register (at Target) tomorrow! SO exciting!

OH...one last thing I forgot to mention :) My cervix? CLAMPED SHUT! Which, this never was an issue in my past pregnancy...in fact, it didn't want to budge. BUT it's nice to know that with the weight of three little babies in there...it still is closed tight!

20 weeks and a melt down :)

So...I had a slight melt down today. Not huge... it almost didn't happen. But then it did :(

Hormones have been treating me pretty good this pregnancy. Really good, actually. I can't think of any major break downs (other than when we hit a deer when I was 4 weeks pregnant). But today - I woke up feeling hormonal... and boy did that feeling show true at work!

I encountered someone today that wasn't aware that I was pregnant again, let alone with triplets! So after chatting a few minutes, saying that I was 20 weeks along (although I appear to be like eight months!)... and that we are having at least two boys. I shared about going to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully finding out what the third is, and then I was asked the question. "What are you going to do? You already have one at home, right?" Ouch. But I handled it pretty well, saying no... we don't, that our daughter passed away in November 2009. This person immediately apologized (and remembered) and felt awful. I felt pretty awful too. I always hate springing that on people... even if it's someone that I "know". So I finished the conversation and went about my way.

When I turned my back to leave... unannounced tears sprung to my eyes. They really surprised me, because I've been handling that question rather well during this pregnancy. I brushed it off and tried to get my mind off of it. I shot a quick email to a friend at work about it, and felt better.

THEN, I had to go and talk to someone else in our office... and this person mentioned how awful the person felt for asking me about Lilly. I said that it was no big deal, and that normally I don't think anything about it. They told me that I had handled the situation really well... and went on to say some other stuff, and all of the sudden the tears came back and this time...they won. They just started spilling out - and there was nothing that I could do to stop them. Embarrassing! Or, at least it would have been my boss for the first *almost* three years I have been at my job.

I was hugged, consoled... and then cried some more. :) Maybe I needed it? I don't know... but it was so out of character for me (at least ME here lately). Oh well. I was upset at myself for breaking down those. Geez. *sigh*

Whew. So needless to say, it's been a day (and a half!) and I am so thankful to finally be home, resting...and spending time with my Honey (and getting ready to watch American Idol!) HA!

Tomorrow is the big day... our anatomy scan, and HOPEFULLY the day that our Baby No Name (aka Baby B) reveals it's privates!! I'm so ready to stop calling it an "IT" and calling him or her by name! Please pray that all goes well, that each baby is developing as it should, and that they all have all the right parts! Also, please especially pray for good fluid levels :) And...I selfishly ask you all to pray for little girl parts! I really really really want my little girl... but will be JUST as excited about three little boys.

Praying for a good appointment...and will update tomorrow evening (probably somewhat late, because I have to go to the dr and then back to work until six). :) Wish me luck!

nineteen with three :)

This week has been a pretty uneventful week. What a relief! I love weeks like this. Where nothing goes wrong... where everything seems to be fine. Weeks where I feel good (or at least as good as you can when you are 19 weeks pregnant with triplets!).

Today we reached the nineteen week mark. Can't believe we have made it this far with little to no bumps along the road! I feel calm most days. Of course, there are days when I feel like I am going to explode with anxiety... but those days are few and far between. I really just have a sense of peace with this pregnancy.

I'm officially past the half way mark (more than likely). I have made it farther (in weeks) than I have left to go. That's pretty exciting!! Seventeen weeks left until the 36 week mark, which is where I pray to make it to!

With two of my three placentas being anterior - I was really concerned that I wouldn't be able to feel my little Skittle's move around in there. I have felt "flutters" (more like fishies swimming around in my belly) since about twelve weeks or so. But then again... it could have just been gas! :) But now I feel definite movement. Not as often as I would like... but I felt them every day for the last week or so. Their movements are finally getting a little more force behind them. Clif was even able to feel Eli & possibly Baby No Name on Monday night. It was...well, one of the best feelings in the world.

If you have ever been pregnant... you know that feeling your baby(s) move is one of the most magical feelings you will ever experience. And then being able to watch the face of your partner light up when he feels the baby...priceless. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I love it.

As crazy as I may sound saying this, I can't wait to feel all three of them going crazy in there! :) Just hope that I'm close to a bathroom, seeing as I have had a few close calls already!

I love to watch people's faces when they ask when I'm due and I answer with "September 14th". :) It never fails to crack me up. They look a little surprised and then usually say something nice to cover up their shock. And when I tell them that I am carrying triplets - it's even better. I normally get the, "oh... I was thinking that you are kind of big to have that much further to go!" :)

Currently... I have mostly good days - with a few rough ones mixed in every now and again. I get REALLY tired...very easily. And I've started to swell with the heat. More of that to come, I'm sure.

We are SO excited about our April 28th appointment. :) It's for our anatomy scan...and hopefully to confirm Baby C's sex, and to reveal Baby B's (aka No Name) sex. We are still holding out for a girl...but not getting our hopes up too much. Seriously...it seems like every single pregnant person that I know (with the exception of like two) are carrying little boys. And the majority of people that have recently had babies...BOYS. I definitely think it's the season of the boys. :) Which...at this point, as much as I want a little girl... I really don't care as long as they are happy and healthy.

PLUS...there is always a next time **wink wink**

half full :)

Eighteen weeks pregnant with my three little Skittle's.

Baby A = Eli Zane

Baby B = To be determined *hopefully* on April 28th. Hopefully "V" can work her magic and make stubborn baby show his/her stuff!!!

Baby C = Easton Lane

At eighteen weeks... for the most part, I feel great. Or as great as you can feel when you are eighteen *almost* nineteen weeks pregnant with triplets. :) My only complaints are that my back is starting to hurt, my ankles are *slightly* swollen from time to time, and I get tired very very easily.

Movement is hit or miss. They (especially Eli) tend to react to food more than anything! Just like a *little* man. Dr g said that it may take me longer to feel strong movements due to Easton & Baby B's placentas being anterior. So where they aren't STRONG movements... I do feel them swimming in there. Mostly when I'm still. Hopefully in a few more weeks they will be big enough for me to feel on a regular basis.

Blood pressure has been really good. Last week it was extremely low - and I was actually concerned about it being TOO low. We're talking 110s/60s...which is weird for me. This week it has been back up 120s/80s...which has always been normal for me. It's weird - when I am active, it tends to be lower. I guess it makes sense.

Weight gain :) Touchy subject. lol...no, actually I have gotten past really caring. As long as the babies and me are healthy, that's all I care about. As of this past Wednesday, my weight gain is up to 20 pounds. Dr G told me in the beginning that I should gain 45 pounds. I have been reading a book written by a doctor that specializes in multiple pregnancies and she says (I think) between 60-75 pounds, even if you were overweight before becoming pregnant.

Speaking of weight - I told Clif that he may not ever want to see me without clothes on, but that I am going to be super skinny after these babies are born. I weighed 129 or less when we first got together. :) And that's what I'm pushing for after Eli, Easton, and B get here.

Well...it's Sunday morning and I am off to church. :) We have a missionary/Evangelist speaking this morning, and then out to eat. Clif is working :( So he will not be joining us. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

baby bumps!

Pictures taken with my best friend of sixteen years :) Aleisha is currently 33 weeks pregnant, carrying a baby boy...due to arrive on or around June 2nd. I, of course, am carrying triplets due September 14th - but hopefully they will arrive a few weeks sooner than that.
ANYway...Aleisha and I thought that it would be fun to take belly comparison shots, which it turned out to be very amusing :) Most of my weight gain (which actually, our weight gain is right at the same!) is mostly in my belly...and the ladies...lol. But my belly is growing sideways as well as frontwards. Aleisha is carrying mostly out front, and slightly pointy.
I love having SO many people to experience this pregnancy with. It's been such a blessing.

SIXTEEN!

We made it to sixteen weeks! Actually, we're almost to seventeen now!! :) I can't even begin to express how truly thankful that we are for these special little blessings from God.
It's been a pretty exhausting week... and to tell you the truth, I can see now that Dr G is probably right when it comes to me having about eight weeks left of work. *sigh* As much as I hate to admit it... I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to handle the work load of every day life.
Please begin praying for me now, for the anxiety I am sure that I will experience when I am taken out of work. It's going to be rough...sitting at home, with my mind....knowing that after six short weeks we will have to seek out long term disability, unemployment options...and leave of absence from work. Well...actually, we will have eleven weeks before my FMLA is up - but only six weeks (maybe less?) will be paid time. ANYway...no need of even stressing over those kinds of things now anyways.
This week things have begun to sink in a little more...about having THREE babies. It's really hard to believe. It's very possible that at 16 weeks pregnant, I am half way through. I'm praying praying praying that we can hold out to 35 weeks. But I know that God is in control, and that His will will be done. :)
Speaking of 35 weeks...Clif and I watched an episode of "Make Room For Multiples" today that made me feel good. This girl (who was extremely small and petite to begin with!) was pregnant with triplets. She made it to 35 weeks! She was huge.ha! But she did it. She made it to the point that I pray to make it to every day. The babies were of course born via c-section. They had waited until that day to learn the sex of their three little ones. Three girls!! Their weights? 5.7lbs, 5.1lbs, and 6.2lbs. Can you believe it? I think one or two had to go to the NICU initially - just to be sure that they were breathing on their own, ect. But one went straight to the regular nursery. ALL THREE babies went home FOUR days after delivery. How awesome is that?
Now... Clif and I still expect our babies to have to spend time in the NICU - but we are also very aware that God performs miracles every single day - and that everything is possible...through HIM! :)
Ahhh... okay, it's 8, I worked today... and I am exhausted. I think it's time for the computer to go to sleep... along with one very tired mama!!! Happy weekend everyone :)

Tomorrow = 16 weeks

First of all - here is a picture of the bump from last week, week 15 :)

So tomorrow I will be exactly sixteen weeks. I really can't believe that I have made it this far. I feel guilty for doubting that I'd make it this far. I know that God is with me all the way...

We also have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 :) One second I'm excited... and in the next, I'm nervous.

I guess I'm nervous because of what happened the last time. *sigh* I feel "great" (< as great as any woman 16 weeks pregnant with triplets can feel). I honestly think our babies are fine... but I know I'll feel so much better after I really KNOW. That's sounds crazy when I actually write it down. ha!

Anyways...so if you have a second, please say a quick prayer for me, the three Skittle's & Clif too - as we go to our doctors appointment tomorrow.

Also - please pray for a friend, R, who is going in early tomorrow morning for her c-section. Please pray that Mama and Baby H both do well. :) Good luck, praying for you guys!!!

short & sweet

I am exhausted and it's been a very hectic last few days with work and such :) But I wanted to update and say that my appointment with Dr G went very well yesterday.
He didn't change my blood pressure medication - he was pretty well satisfied with how it had been running. :) Except yesterday. *laugh* Of course, I have "white coat syndrome" when it comes to any type of doctor. So my bp was up a little when we finally were called back. They sent me to the exam room and had me lie on my left side - and literally two minutes later, Dr G came in and took it again. It was perfect. He told me to go ahead and roll over on my back so we could "take a listen" to the babies. When I rolled over - Dr G was like, wow...you've gotten a lot bigger since I saw you last. I just felt like saying - oh thanks!
It was semi difficult to pick up the heart beats, number one because I'm only twelve weeks - and there are three of them in there. And secondly - when he stuck the doppler to my tummy, MY heart beat was super loud. :) We heard Baby B & C pretty good, and A was a little harder to hear because s/he likes to hide down by my pubic bone. I heard a very faint something, and Dr G was very confident that it was the third heart beat. He says that everything looks good... and he wants to see me again in two weeks.
Crazy thing... he showed me where my "fundus" is (the top of the uterus) is. At twelve weeks - it's normally about an inch or two above the pubic bone. MINE is about an inch and a half below my BELLY BUTTON. Really? ha!
Clif and I are so grateful - and praising God for yet another good report. We are so blessed to be given three precious babies.
